Financial Education & Money Management

Financial Education Since 2019

We help people understand money without the confusion

Started in Newcastle back when budgeting spreadsheets were still a thing people printed out. Now we're teaching thousands of Australians to handle their finances with confidence—not fear.

Six years of making finance less intimidating

Back in 2019, I was sitting in a café watching someone struggle through a mortgage calculator on their phone. They looked genuinely stressed. That's when it hit me—most financial education is written by people who've never felt that kind of pressure.

So we built kolminteqa differently. Started with workshops at the local library, teaching basic budgeting to twenty people at a time. The feedback was immediate: "Why doesn't anyone else explain it like this?"

Because most financial services want to sound impressive. We just want you to understand what you're doing with your money and feel good about those choices.

What Drives Us

Real guidance, not sales pitches

These aren't corporate values we brainstormed in a meeting room. They're the principles that actually guide how we work with people every day.

Plain English Always

Financial jargon exists to make things sound complicated. We translate everything into words you'd actually use with your friends. No "leveraging assets" when we mean "using what you have."

Your Situation, Not Theory

Textbook advice ignores the messy reality of life. We focus on what works for your specific circumstances, whether that's irregular income, family obligations, or just wanting to stop worrying about bills.

No Judgment Zone

Made financial mistakes? Join the club. Everyone has. We're here to help you move forward, not lecture you about what you should've done three years ago.

Education Over Sales

We don't earn commissions on products. Our only goal is helping you understand your options well enough to make informed choices that actually match your life.

How We Work

Four steps to financial clarity

Not a rigid process—just the practical path most people follow when working with us to build better money habits.

1

Figure Out Where You Are

We start with an honest look at your current situation. Income, expenses, debts, savings. No shame, just facts. Most people discover they're doing better than they thought—or at least have a clearer picture to work from.

2

Set Goals That Matter

Forget generic advice about retiring at 65. What do you actually want? A house deposit by 2027? Less stress about unexpected bills? Financial goals only work when they connect to real life priorities you care about.

3

Build Your Strategy

This is where we create a realistic plan. Not a perfect budget that falls apart in week two, but a flexible approach that accounts for how you actually live. Small adjustments, not lifestyle overhauls.

4

Regular Check-Ins

Life changes. Income shifts. Unexpected expenses happen. We meet quarterly to adjust your strategy based on what's actually happening, not what we planned six months ago.

Marcus Brennan

Founder & Financial Educator

Spent fifteen years in traditional banking before realizing I was better at explaining finance than selling it. Left to start kolminteqa because too many smart people were making bad money decisions simply because no one explained things clearly.

These days I split time between one-on-one consultations and developing education programs. Still learning new things about how people relate to money—it's never boring.
